NEW FALL 2023! We’ve been able to upgrade our old seats to these newer ones that have taller reclining backrests with dual cupholders in a striking purple color. We now have 130 total seats in a staggered, sloped layout in our updated auditorium! We also have 8 child seats available (first come, first served).
NEW HANDICAP-ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE AT THE REAR!
We are now able to offer a no-stairs ramped entry from the rear of our building. This will allow for full access through the auditorium & into the lobby for our concession stands & use of our handicap-accessible bathroom. Park in the marked spaces in the alley. If you need assistance with entry, please call 712-220-0608 so someone can meet you there.

We are famous for our special recipe popcorn popped in our antique popper! We are proud to serve Iowa-based Jolly Time® popcorn. Small box is just $1. Medium cup: $3. Large bucket: $5. No charge for butter topping, salt or specialty seasonings.

We offer chilled fountain Coke products with no ice (you may bring your own ice) in three sizes of cups with lids & straws. Small: $1. Medium: $2. Large: $3. Our current selection includes Coke, Diet Coke, Cherry Coke, Mello Yello, Root Beer & Sprite. We also offer 20-ounce bottled Dasani water perfectly chilled for $2.
CANDY
Our concessions offering includes a wide variety of popular candy options in both regular & king-size versions. Regular is just $2 each while king-size options are $3 each. Whether you want chocolate or sugary to go with your movie, we’ve got it!
NOTE: We only accept cash, local checks or Wonderland passes. No credit/debit cards. An ATM is a block away.

ABOUT US
Since 1910 (1912 in this location)
HISTORY
Our origin goes back to 1910 when the Wonderland a man named Ling opened at a different location on East Broadway. Just two years later, this theater complete with orchestra pit was built on this South Main site by Don Harrington. Many families ran it over the past 113 years. We will share more of the storied history here soon!
VOLUNTEERS
Without volunteers, the Wonderland Theater would still be closed as it was several times over the past century. Yet since 1983 a volunteer base has helped keep this place open & operating. Some of our volunteers have served for decades! We are always interested in adding qualified people to our dedicated crew. It takes about 4 to staff each night of the weekend to cover box office, concessions & projectionist duties. Thank them!
SPECIAL EVENTS
We are able to rent out the theater for a special showing or event you, your family, class reunion, work event, church gathering or such. Please email (wonderlandtheaterpaullina@gmail.com) to inquire. We also hope to use our new lighting to allow for daytime events as well.
